BUSN 6010 – Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility

In the below term paper, I challenge the ethics of an international window manufacturer from an environmental sustainability perspective. The content of this paper was the catalyst for my shift to a sustainability perspective, and the research solidified and supported my life approach of proactive thoughtfulness, in all things.

Abstract: Since the 1980s, replacement window companies have promoted upgrades of original single-pane windows to assembled, insulated multiple-pane windows as a way to increase energy efficiency in existing structures, and resulting in a decreased carbon footprint via energy savings. Two words: they’re wrong. This is a prime example of unethical business strategy for profit, with exponential negative social and environmental consequences at stake.

BUSN 6950 – Research Methods

In this term presentation, I take my first run at my Thesis research matter. The “housing crisis” defines the sources of issue as low supply, low borrowing rates, and high demand. However, this explanation addresses only symptoms, not causes. The source of the issue is a lack of choice in housing. Short-term fixes of additional single family homes only serve to magnify densification, environmental and sprawl issues.
